Harley Leaving The Syst3m

I'm a good black jack player. And the reason I'm good is not because I can count cards or anything to do with mathematical odds. It's because I have an unerring instinct as to when the odds are stacked against me and it's time to pick up my chips and leave the table. It's nothing to do with quitting or losing, it's about leaving with dignity and strength.I think that time has come with Syst3m 32. I've had the feeling for some time but recent events have confirmed it to me. If this band was going to succeed, it would have done it by now.
I'm not saying that it's been a complete waste of time, I've learnt a few new songs, been introduced to a few new bands, learnt more about the music scene in Lancaster, a town which is still new to me. I've enjoyed the open mike nights at the Golden Lion and our 20 min slot at the Gregson charity gig and the music co-op has been a great facility for all the rehearsing we've done. Recording was also fun and it's nice to have a memory of what Syst3m 32 sounded like.
So it true award ceremony style, I'd like to leave with a few thanks. This is in no real order and I apologise for any I forget.
First I'd like to thank my Wife Steph and daughter Constance for their continued support and for putting up with my absence whilst at rehearsals, band meetings open mike nights, etc. Thanks also for putting up wit the noise we made while practising in the garage
Also on that note, thanks to Meg and Matt for letting us practise at their place. Thanks also to Matt, without whom there would never have been Syst3m 32, for his invaluable advice, support and impeccable Bass playing.
Thanks also to our two drummers. Nigel, you were there when we needed you and for that we are in your debt. Your advice and experience were a real asset to us. Maxwell, you injected new life into the band with your enthusiasm but I think your Mother has made a wise decision in asking you to concentrate on your studies. Whatever path you chose in life, I'm sure it will be a bright one.
Thanks to Alex for all the work he has put into the website, it really is quite stunning and I'm glad the band provided such a good project for you to focus your skills on.
The same to Rich, the other Blade in the band, thanks for providing an extra voice in our democracy.
Now I know that this blog will be submitted to our forum as a topic of discussion, so if any one wants to come back at me with anything, you know my mind is always open. But, for now, I'm folding, cashing my chips and heading to the door'.
