Changes To Site Functionality

Latest Site Changes
Okay, we now have a few amendments to site that I'll detail for you now. Firstly, the forum has posts! Oh yes. I have created (with some difficulty) the ability for new blogs to be automatically added to the forum as discussions in case anybody would like to discuss the topic rather than comment on it. There is a link near the bottom of the blog that will take you to the post in the forum.
I have also been working on the registration of this site, and once again (with some difficulty) when new people register with us they will automatically be registered on the forums so can browse that with the same login details they use for this site. I'm going to work on being logged in for everything, but that's a little more tricky! But for now that side of the functionality works a treat.
For those that are already registered I'm going to be sending an E-Mail round with how you can sign up easily to the forum. Your usernames will remain the same but you will have to make up a new password once you have logged in.
For the admins of the site I have been playing with some Ajax that you can see on the comment section of the site. And for those that can't see that, you can see what Ajax does (with javascript enabled) on the history pages of the site. Very funky stuff, and plenty more to follow!
Older Changes
Okay, I have been playing around with a few things recently because of ideas inspired by other blogs and various text input boxes such as that found on Coding Forums, and have decided to implement a few things that will make it easier for our blog posters (Syst3m 32) and comment posters (those that have registered) to stylise and create nicer blogs and comments.
The first thing you will notice is the smilies that are in the comments section (that you can use when you log in). It took me a while and plenty of web trawling but finally you can either click the smilie to insert it where the cursor is, or you can type them yourself (making sure you use the correct syntax of course!).
The next change that won't be quite so obvious to those that don't post blogs, is the ability to stylise the blogs a little more by using the same 'click' method, but this time to add such things as links, blockquotes and headings to blogs. I'm working on a 'code' section that can be used to display preformatted text (which will be used for such things as tabs, if we want to post those... etc).
Any problems with any of this, or any other smilies or tags you would like added, please contact me and I'll see what I can do! For now, enjoy the fun additions to the blogs and comments
Examples:
This is a heading
This is a blockquote that will be used for, well, blocks of quotes!
A Nice URL
Code:
There will be preformatted text here, when I've finished that bit!
Edit:

Thanks James! And just for added functionality I just got an E-Mail to tell me that this blog had a comment
hehe. Glad you like it though

I'll be updating this again soon with some very cool changes for the administrators of this site, but on something that will help our users browser a nice clean, and tidy site
Updates soon!

As you can see I've updated this page, and the newest feature (*will be*) ajax comments that mean you don't have to reload the page when you hit submit on your comments. They will be added automatically and hopefully visible to you immediately after hitting submit!

Thought I might as well update this. There's now lots of ajax used all over the site ('cos it's funky and looks cool) but will not affect anything if you don't have js as the site was built completely without to start with

Interesting post. I love some of the clever coding on here and I am also glad you allow unregistered users to leave comments on your blog.
